Mad Hatter Money

So as promised here is another door hanging box.  We have been to Disneyland a few times in the last year and the kids always want to buy something.  So I came up with Disney Dollars.  It was an easy way for them to earn some spending money and a little lesson in management and keeping track of it.  When they are do something worth rewarding then I give them a Disney Dollar.
One box holds the Disney Dollars I have to give and the other hangs on the door.
I forgot to weld the door hanger and the sweetheart box.  Ugh!
Here is what it looks like before it's put together.
And now put together.
These are the Disney Dollars.  I used clip art to get the Mad Hatter and the font is from a free fonts website and is called Alice in Wonderland.  I made them in $1, $5, and $10 increments.  They are the size of a standard business card so it was easy to print several sheets of each.  I also made one with a Buzz Lightyear theme and Star Wars theme.  (those are the kids choices Mad Hatter is my favorite so I chose to make one with him)
Then I took some padding bond that I got from Chica & Jo to make then into notepads.  This makes it much easier to keep then in one place and it's kind of fun to tear them off.
On the hanging box I cut a slit in the top that will allow me to just drop in the Disney Dollars when they are earned.
I used Elegant Edges to create my background and Disney Classics for the Mad Hatter.  This cartridge is a must have if you love Disney!
The "mad" is cut from Happy Hauntings and the $ is from Birthday Cakes.  The card stock and ribbon are from Stampin' Up: Kiwi Kiss, Taken with Teal and the new Pool Party.  The twine is from The Twinery.

I hope you have enjoyed another idea for my door hanger boxes.

Stephanie

The End.

  1. What a great idea. We are saving money for a Disney trip in a few years (we went last summer) and I should make one of these for our savings plan
