Welcome to the It's a Wrap Blog Hop hosted by Cool Beans by L.B. This hop is all about the wrapping. Cool ways to package that little something to give to someone special.
You should have arrived here from, Confessions of a Scrapoholic. If you came here one your own you can catch the beginning of the hop with our hostess at Cool Beans by L.B.
I have created something that I just love. When my kids were little I bought a ceramic cupcake from one of those paint it yourself shops. My thought was that I would fill it up with treats and leave it on their nightstand so they would wake in the morning and find it. Since then the cupcake has gone away. But now I came up with this super cute idea for leaving my birthday treats.
I used my Gypsy and welded the door hanger from Tie the Knot to the sweethearts box from Love Struck to create this door hanging box in black. I used small circles to create holes in the front of the box and backed it with white to create a polka dot front. You could also use acetate to give a little peak at the treats.
Because I didn't want the hook of the door hanger to be open I cut a slit on each side of the opening . I tied melon mambo polka dot ribbon through the holes then finished it with twine.
The Happy Birthday was cut from Once Upon a Princess using a light pink polka dot paper, melon mambo and shadowed in white.
The flower was cut with the same papers in addition to old olive and black. I used Mothers Day Bouquet. Pop dotted some of the layers to add dimension.
I thought it looked a little boring so I added some tulle around the box. I think it adds a little fancy and softens the flower.
I made a few different styles because I could not decide which to post for the hop. Check back through out the week for some other ideas I came up with for these handy little door hangers.
Now a little something sweet for one of my followers. I have a cute Birthday Stamp Set from Stampin' Up, stickers, vanilla Smooze spray, twine and some other goodies.
All you have to do is be a follower and leave a comment. I will select a winner using Random.org and announce the winner on Wednesday, July 20th.
Good Luck!
I hope you'll take a few minutes and check out all the ideas these talented women have come up with and get inspired to wrap something up yourself.

I love that you can take something that seems so dull to me (like a doorhanger) and make it into something so fun and useful! I can imagine your kids' excitement when they get to open their doorhangers up and count how much money they've earned for their trip!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!!! :-)
