So Sweet

In October of last year we went to the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta.  A great friend of our was able to get us all access passes for the entire weekend.  (you know who you are THANKS!!).  With the passes we were able to get VIP parking each day along with breakfast, lunch and snacks.  The kids loved that they could have ice cream...EVERYDAY!
I got this paper from a crop and loved the colors.  It totally reminds me of ice cream treats.  Don't you think?  I found 2 different "so sweet" phrases on my G and then added the triple scoop from Sweet Treats.
I used my clear star pen to doodle around the edges and added some bling to each phrase.
I used my dots embossing folder on a few of the scoops and viola.  All done.
Short, SWEET, and to the point.

P.S.  You may not know this but my ONE YEAR BLOG BIRTHIVERSARY is coming soon.
Stay tuned for a week long celebration to begin on September 1st.

My First Pasta

I LOVE THIS PAGE!  My son always has and still loved his pasta.  He is a little less messy now that he is 7 years old.  (yes, I'm behind).
I used From my Kitchen and a couple of other cartridges for this LO.
The paper was perfect.  It is kind of a muted orange just like the sauce that was all over the place.
I used the backside of the paper to make a frame and pulled the other colors in the LO from the little stars.  I didn't want everything to be orange.  The sign was cut in Baja Breeze and Red Rose.
The pasta bowl was cut from Blue Bayou.  I knew that I wanted to have something that looked like pasta in the bowl and hanging from the fork.  Some people suggested string but it was not quite thick enough.  I tried to use some cream colored hot glue but it melted too much and instead of being stringy it just all melted together.  My friend Irene had this yarn that was a little thinner that regular yarn and a little different texture.  I like the way this looked much better than compared to the other options I tried.  I really like how the fork looks...almost makes me hungry!
I cut these tabs to spell messy and attached them to one of the photos.
Here is a little better view.

Now for something else....My one year Blog Birthiversary is fast approaching September 1st.
Stay tuned for some fun!!!!

Pony Rides

During the summer someone has to watch after the little people.  I found a great place that is right around the corner from the office.  Each day during the summer the school has some kind of activity planned for the kids.  They have water days, cooking, crafts and other fun things.  A few years ago they brought in Pony Rides.
Syd was about 20 months old in these pictures.  She squealed with delight when the attendant put her on the Pony.  It was hilarious!
For this LO I used Paper dolls and Old West.
I picked up the papers at a crop for .10 each, what a steal!  I loved that they were the same design but definitely boy and girl.  The colors in the paper matched perfectly with Stampin Up Sage Shadow, Melon Mambo and Soft Suede.
I added some bling to the girly side and popped up the horseshoe on both.
I tied some twine around the wooden barrel and popped it up too.
I colored the mane and tail of each horse using water color crayons and a blender pen.  I love the wiggly eyes but you already knew that.  I added a matching pink bow on the girly pony.
I was going to leave the wheelbarrow empty but a friend had these cute flowers that were perfect.  I added both colors in light and dark to tie everything together.  Then added a few to the opposite page too and blinged the middles.
I think they turned out pretty cute and the kids loved them!
Hope you enjoyed!

Happy Birthday Gamer

As many of you know I was in a blog hop a few weeks ago called It's A Wrap.  I had already made my door hanger when I thought of this...  I wanted to wrap up something special for my nephew.  He loves Ninjago and said that he wanted the game for his DS player.
I wrapped the game in really bright paper that said "Happy Birthday" all over it.
I thought it would be cute to make the gift a TV and the card attached the game controller.
For the TV I used the Slumber Party.  I added pumpkin pie corduroy brads for the dials.  The cord is a satin ribbon that is round instead of flat.
The Happy Birthday is from Once Upon a Paper.  I popped up the Happy Birthday since 3D TV is all the rage right now.  LOL!
I doodled around the shadow of the TV and on the antennas.
The game control is from Father's Day...I think.  I used my Gypsy to copy, flip and weld the shadow for the controller to make the card.  I popped up the buttons so it looks like the real deal then added the arrows and letters.
I love that I was able to take something so normal and make it stand out on the gift table.  For your next gift wrap up something up in a special and people will remember for a long time.

Christmas Cards

I thought since everyone is sharing Christmas in July projects I would show you this one.  I got the idea from my friend and fellow scrapper Kristi from Craftin' on My Door.  I used to keep all the cards I received from everyone during Christmas in boxes but the cards took over and there was no storage left for actual decorations.  This is the perfect solution!  (my apologies in advance for the not so great pictures.  Ugh,  shadows!)
I punched a square from each card (two from some) and then put each across the top.  Some are pictures of family and friends and others are just a cute piece of the card our family received.
I used black letter to make the title with the shadow and the rod iron is a felt sticker I picked up from somewhere that has been in my stash for a while.
I decided to make my Christmas Card page the last one in the scrapbook for that year.  What a great way to celebrate the past year and embrace the new one.

If you have other creative ways to keep Christmas or Birthday cards I would love for you to share them.  I'm kind of sentimental but only when it doesn't take over the house.  I don't much like clutter, it makes me a little crazy.  Until next time.

Mad Hatter Money

So as promised here is another door hanging box.  We have been to Disneyland a few times in the last year and the kids always want to buy something.  So I came up with Disney Dollars.  It was an easy way for them to earn some spending money and a little lesson in management and keeping track of it.  When they are do something worth rewarding then I give them a Disney Dollar.
One box holds the Disney Dollars I have to give and the other hangs on the door.
I forgot to weld the door hanger and the sweetheart box.  Ugh!
Here is what it looks like before it's put together.
And now put together.
These are the Disney Dollars.  I used clip art to get the Mad Hatter and the font is from a free fonts website and is called Alice in Wonderland.  I made them in $1, $5, and $10 increments.  They are the size of a standard business card so it was easy to print several sheets of each.  I also made one with a Buzz Lightyear theme and Star Wars theme.  (those are the kids choices Mad Hatter is my favorite so I chose to make one with him)
Then I took some padding bond that I got from Chica & Jo to make then into notepads.  This makes it much easier to keep then in one place and it's kind of fun to tear them off.
On the hanging box I cut a slit in the top that will allow me to just drop in the Disney Dollars when they are earned.
I used Elegant Edges to create my background and Disney Classics for the Mad Hatter.  This cartridge is a must have if you love Disney!
The "mad" is cut from Happy Hauntings and the $ is from Birthday Cakes.  The card stock and ribbon are from Stampin' Up: Kiwi Kiss, Taken with Teal and the new Pool Party.  The twine is from The Twinery.

I hope you have enjoyed another idea for my door hanger boxes.

It's a Wrap Blog Hop & Giveaway!

Welcome to the It's a Wrap Blog Hop hosted by Cool Beans by L.B.  This hop is all about the wrapping.  Cool ways to package that little something to give to someone special.

You should have arrived here from,  Confessions of a Scrapoholic.  If you came here one your own you can catch the beginning of the hop with our hostess at Cool Beans by L.B.

I have created something that I just love.  When my kids were little I bought a ceramic cupcake from one of those paint it yourself shops.  My thought was that I would fill it up with treats and leave it on their nightstand so they would wake in the morning and find it.  Since then the cupcake has gone away.  But now I came up with this super cute idea for leaving my birthday treats.
I used my Gypsy and welded the door hanger from Tie the Knot to the sweethearts box from Love Struck to create this door hanging box in black.  I used small circles to create holes in the front of the box and backed it with white to create a polka dot front.  You could also use acetate to give a little peak at the treats.
Because I didn't want the hook of the door hanger to be open I cut a slit on each side of the opening .  I tied melon mambo polka dot ribbon through the holes then finished it with twine.
The Happy Birthday was cut from Once Upon a Princess using a light pink polka dot paper, melon mambo and shadowed in white.
The flower was cut with the same papers in addition to old olive and black.  I used Mothers Day Bouquet.  Pop dotted some of the layers to add dimension.
I thought it looked a little boring so I added some tulle around the box.  I think it adds a little fancy and softens the flower.
I made a few different styles because I could not decide which to post for the hop.  Check back through out the week for some other ideas I came up with for these handy little door hangers.

Now a little something sweet for one of my followers.  I have a cute Birthday Stamp Set from Stampin' Up, stickers, vanilla Smooze spray, twine and some other goodies.
All you have to do is be a follower and leave a comment.  I will select a winner using Random.org and announce the winner on Wednesday, July 20th.
Good Luck!
I hope you'll take a few minutes and check out all the ideas these talented women have come up with and get inspired to wrap something up yourself.

Thanks for stopping by,
Stephanie
