Raingutter Regatta

My son joined Cub Scouts last year in the spring.  He was really excited when he learned he would be "building" a boat and racing it in the Annual Raingutter Regatta.
It was only his second meeting with the group of kids and he ended up taking first place.  I had to wait to scrap the event because the trophies didn't arrive in time.  Now for the details.
I found this great Cub Scout paper pack by K & Company and knew it would be perfect for all his event layouts.  I used the tile feature on Makin the Grade and layered it in navy and orange.  Then connected them together with metal brads.  I used the sail boat from Gypsy wanderings but hid the scroll.  I welded the smaller one to a rectangle from Don Juan to create a cute journeling tag.  I layered the back in navy so it would pop against the striped paper.
Finally, I cut a 1st place ribbon from Locker Talk but added the medallion to the center in a gold shimmer paper.  (the picture doesn't show very well)
This quick and simple but I love the way it turned out.  Until next time...keep creating.
